Who is responsible
TellYourTrip is operated by Qusay Alhasan, individual operator of TellYourTrip, Triftenberg 18, 32805 Horn-Bad Meinberg, Germany. Contact contact@tellyourtrip.com for privacy or support questions. This policy covers the public website and anonymous waitlist now, and the mobile social travel-discovery product when those functions become publicly available.
Information we process
For the anonymous waitlist we process your normalized email address, English or Arabic locale, Android, iPhone, or both as platform interest, consent version, source and consent time, confirmation state and times, hashed confirmation and unsubscribe tokens, and optional bounded source or UTM fields. The mobile product may process account and authentication details, profile details, travel posts, questions, answers, comments, saved items, follows, reports, moderation records, photos or other uploaded media, device and session security data, and a location or destination you choose to use. Device location is requested only for a user-chosen nearby feature while the app is in use; manual location selection remains available.
Why and how we use information
We use waitlist data only to send the confirmation email and launch information for the platform or platforms you selected, based on explicit consent and double opt-in under consent version TYT-WAITLIST-CONSENT-2026-08-09-V1. We do not reuse that consent for newsletters, promotions, partners, profiling, personalised advertising, or unrelated product updates. Other product data is used to provide accounts, social travel discovery, security, support, moderation, reporting, and user-requested location features. Necessary access and security logs are processed for our legitimate operational and security interests.
Retention
Unconfirmed waitlist entries are deleted no later than 14 days after submission. Confirmed entries are kept until the selected platform launch notice is sent and then deleted within 90 days; regardless, they are deleted no later than 24 months after confirmation. A verified unsubscribe removes the waitlist contact entry without undue delay. Necessary application and access security logs are kept for 14 days unless a documented security incident or legal obligation requires longer. Other records are kept only as long as needed for the service, safety, disputes, and legal duties, under the applicable retention rules.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw waitlist consent at any time through the unsubscribe link or contact@tellyourtrip.com; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We respond without undue delay and normally within one month. You may complain to a competent data-protection authority.
Waitlist withdrawal and account deletion
Use the unsubscribe link in a waitlist email to remove the waitlist contact entry. For an app account, use the public account-deletion page without reinstalling the app: enter the account email, choose Standard Deletion or Full Removal, and confirm the secure email link within 24 hours. Confirmed requests are queued; TellYourTrip targets processing within seven days and a complete response within 30 days. Standard Deletion may retain approved public text under a deleted-user label, while Full Removal deletes removable authored public content; both remove direct account identifiers, private account data, and uploaded media. Limited legal, security, audit, or dispute records may remain where required.
Website privacy posture and contact
At public website launch, analytics, advertising, cross-site tracking, profiling, and non-essential cookies or client storage are disabled. No third-party anti-bot provider is used; the waitlist uses first-party validation, a honeypot, and rate limiting.
